Meanwhile, we are going to start compression wrapping her "O" to see if we can inversely expand her abdomen by putting a small amount of pressure on her belly. She doesn't seem to mind unless she is eating and then she gets a bit fussy. We were told to take it off for mealtime, but to have it on pretty much the rest of the time.
Here are a few success stories from compression wrapping:
Blair's story
Zack's story
Caitlyn's story
We hope we can add "Kalista's story" up there one day.

I sure hope Kalista's story can be added to the list. Are you guys doing the wrapping during night time too?. I am only doing day time with Tobias and so far I haven't seen any major difference, but we just started about a month ago.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!!.
We are wrapping at night time too. Our plastic surgeon told us that if there are no issues with breathing or any fussiness, then night time is the best time to wrap because they are relaxed and their organs can just rest into place. The only time we don't wrap Kalista is when she is eating since it interferes with the flow of food through her g-tube. Good luck with Tobias too! Let me know how things go in the next few months.
