The first few weeks were a little rough
for all of us...
Birth
Rady Children's Hospital became our home away from home.
Kalista had surgery 2 hours after she was born
This is her after her "O"(omphalocele) surgery with a "snow cone" belly
Dad waited for her at Children's while she had surgery
Here he is visiting baby Kalista
Mom got to visit baby Kalista the day after she was delivered
since she was still recovering from her own surgery
Kalista had some jaundice and needed a little tanning session with the Bili Light
Grandma Evelyn got to visit Kalista right after her third surgery
Kalista had a lot of hair when she was born
She's really puffy from all the IV fluids
Kalista's first haircut, not by choice of course
They had to shave her head to start an IV, but it didn't quite work out
Her CPAP machine (a baby step off the traditional ventilator)
She has a nasal cannula to give a little air to her lungs
They also gave her "O" a little support system
